Dan Brown. Dan Brown. Dan Brown.
Hands down, one of my favorite authors.
Top 5 – easily.
Let’s brag for a second.
If you haven’t read Origin, Angels & Demons, or Inferno – you are doing it WRONG, my friends.
Dan Brown can take any reader and turn them into a bookworm. His books have everything: religious references, historical references, travel, mystery, detective work, government work, strategy, conspiracy theories, factual landmarks – this man, I swear, does his research tenfold and it’s brilliant.
But let’s talk about Deception Point.
Honestly didn’t realize a suspense novel could teach me so much about glaciers, fossils, the ocean, and plankton.
I have put off reading this one and I don’t really know why. For some reason, *cringe* I expected it to be bad…
I know, I’m the worst. How dare I? He’s (one of) my favorite author(s). How could I expect one of his books to be bad? Well, everyone has one.
But I am here to tell you it’s NOT. It’s amazing.
I have lately been obsessed with understanding how our, the U.S., government works – the profession of being POTUS, understanding Congress, Washington, all of it.
— some TV shows feeding this obsession: The Looming Tower, Designated Survivor (!!!! – THIS SHOW – !!!!), and The Americans. — anywho (:
Deception Point focuses around the presidential race, NASA, Special Ops, and the Artic circle and ocean – it honestly couldn’t get much more interesting. It also ties in some hot topics like creationism, life forms on other planets, and scandals.
Dan Brown has a way of really taking a topic to its full potential. He does such an amazing job with this one.
If I had to suggest a Dan Brown book to anyone, I would say read this one, then read Origin– because GUYS, that book will make you THINK. And who doesn’t love a little mind challenge? Especially if you like the creationism debate.
Honestly still reeling from the climax in Deception Point. Read to find out more. It is so worth it. Brown will grasp your attention and keep you honed in till the very end.
